K for Kate |
The filling is in long and short stitch again in a pale grey to add shine and texture rather than colour. The outline this time is a whipped backstitch with two threads in the needle, which makes a nice rounded rope. The stems are in stem stitch and the leaves in fishbone stich. The flower centre and the dots are padded sating stitch (and I'm really please with how circular they came out. Then the purple flower is (sort of) silk shading. I wanted the flower to be a bit more delicate, but I think the little grey accents save it from looking too chunky.
