Inspiration - Malahide Castle

My in-laws have been over to Dublin to visit us this weekend, and yesterday we took a trip up to Malahide, and the castle and gardens there.

The castle was originally built in the 12th century - although it has changed dramatically over the years. It a lovely spot and worth a visit if you're in this part of the world, but what really caught my eye was an embroidered counterpane in one of the bedrooms.

Unfortunately I was only able to get a quick snap, but it gave me some ideas of what to do with my leftover perle thread from the Casalguidi course
