Meet Owlbert

I do like a good pun

Here's my finished Royal Owl by Trish Burr - and I have called him Owlbert. I think he's turned out very well. Since the last update I have added his wings and his head tufts, all in long and short stitch or padded satin stitch.

I have really enjoyed this project and although it didn't contain many new techniques, I have enjoyed using a new thread - the cotton a broder.

Today I've been down at the Royal School of Needlework for a day course on how to get embroidery ready for framing - so Owlbert will be readied for framing over the next few weeks along with some of my older pieces.
